Electronics And Telecommunication Engineering Department
         Telecommunications engineering, ortelecom engineering, is a major field within electronic engineering. The work ranges from basic circuit design to strategic mass developments. A telecommunication engineer is responsible for designing and overseeing the installation of telecommunications equipment and facilities, such as complex electronic switching systems, copper telephone facilities, and fiber optics. Telecom engineering also overlaps heavily with broadcast engineering.

         Telecom engineers are often expected, as most engineers are, to provide the best solution possible for the lowest cost to the company. This often leads to creative solutions to problems that often would have been designed differently without the budget constraints dictated by modern society. In the earlier days of the telecom industry massive amounts of cable were placed that were never used or have been replaced by modern technology such as fiber optic cable and digital multiplexing techniques.

Programme Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering programme are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of electronics & telecommunication engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the profession. The graduates shall:

  1. Identify, define and solve problems in the fields of electronics & communication engineering.
  2. Employ necessary techniques and tools for advanced engineering applications, engage themselves in research and development and take up higher education.
  3. Use their skills in ethical & professional manner to raise the satisfaction level of the stakeholders.
Program Outcomes

The programme is targeted at developing the following competencies, skills and abilities amongst students. They shall be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science & generic engineering skills and core knowledge of electronics and telecommunication to practical engineering systems .
  2. Identify, formulate and solve electronics & communication engineering problems using appropriate tools and standards of electronics and telecommunication engineering.
  3. Design electronic systems, components or processes to meet desired needs within realistic constraints considering social, cultural and public health issues.
  4. An ability to investigate complex problems and use appropriate research methodologies, including design and conduct of experiments, and to analyze and interpret data to provide conclusions.
  5. Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
  6. Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, societal context and sustainability.
  7. Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviour.
  8. Function as an individual or leader in multidisciplinary teams in projects implementation.
  9. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing and make presentations.
  10. Engage in life-long learning and adapt to rapidly changing technologies.
  11. Demonstrate knowledge & understanding of project management and finance and apply these to projects as individual, team member or leader.
General Proficiency

     Grooming is very important part of an individual personality. In General Proficiency all efforts are directed to enhance and groom one's outer and inner self to bring about a positive change in one's life, boosting one's confidence, learning fine etiquettes and manners, adding style and grace to the way one looks, talks and walks and overall imbibing oneself with positivity, liveliness and peace.
    This in-turn creates the personality which can match and outwin the competition and as well become well-cultured person with all the required skill sets which are required to be a smart global citizen. The course deals with improving the skills namely Personal Skills, Social Skills, Inter-personal Skills, Family Skills, Soft Skills.


    
GHRCE is the first Institute in the region to have started special classes and training sessions for students to hone their persona in general proficiency for readily being acceptable by organizations and schools of higher learning. The T&P Cell and the Departmental Forums design well crafted programs with interface from external agencies to instill vigor and self confidence in students. The singular purpose is to develop in students the ability to learn and understand the nuances of the changing world. The students are taught to walk the extra mile and that there is always a better way to do things.

To impart various skills institute has incorporated General Proficiency subject in every semester which will offer
  • Horse riding which is the skill of riding, driving, or vaulting with horses. This broad description includes the use of horses for recreational activities, artistic or cultural exercises, and competitive sport.
  • Health courses like Yoga, Pranayam, Fitness
  • Hobby classes like Dance, Kathak, Synthesizer, Tabla
  • Languages like communication skills, Japanese, Spanish, German, French
