Admissions under FN/PIO/ Gulf Students Quota & NRI Ward Quota

Definitions :

 
• ‘Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)’: A Person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) without “NRI” status, who holds a Foreign Passport at the time of sending application, consideration for admission and during the period of his/her study, and he/she or anyone/both of his/her parents or anyone/both of his/her grandparents is (or was)/are (or were) citizen(s) of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Sec. 2(b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955). 
 
• ‘Foreign Nationals’ means Citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO.
 
• ‘Foreign Student’ means Foreign Student in this context shall be defined as the student who possesses a foreign passport.
 
• Children of Indian workers in the Gulf Countries: The children of an Indian who is working in Gulf Countries under relevant working visa.
 
• ‘NRI’: Non Resident Indian as per the definition given in the section 6 of the Income Tax Act 1961.
 
• ‘NRI Candidate’ means a candidate who is a child/ward of the of the person who has the ‘NRI status’ as defined under section 6 of the Income Tax Act.
 
 

The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has approved G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur admitting students having status of Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf Countries under 15% supernumerary quota >  for Children of NRI Students up to 5% within the Sanctioned Intake in following branches in the following branches:

Rules for admission under FN/PIO/ Gulf Students quota:

 
• If any seats available for Foreign Nationals / Foreign Students / Persons of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries remain vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates for these seats, such vacant seats shall be kept vacant. Under any condition these seats shall not be offered to any other candidates.
 
• 1/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and 2/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for the PIO / Foreign Nationals etc. However any vacant seats out of 1/3 category shall be reverted to the quota of 2/3 meant for PIO/Foreign National.
 
• As per the orders of Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, these seats can be filled by the institutes only after the institute is certified by the AICTE to the effect that the institute has infrastructure facilities for making the admissions against the over and above the sanctioned intake seats for Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries. In the event of non-availability of Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries, these seats can not be filled from any other candidates. 
 
 

Eligibility criteria for candidates:

 

A. For Bachelor of Engineering 

Candidate should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject

AND/span>

Secured minimum 50 % marks in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together.

Note :

The eligibility of the candidates passing the HSC (Std. XII) or equivalent examination from a  school/college/Examination Board situated outside India shall be further decided by the University Authorities to which the candidate is admitted. Hence such candidates are advised to get their eligibility verified by the respective University Authorities before seeking admission to the Engineering courses in the State of Maharashtra.

B. For Post graduate courses:

Candidate should have passed bachelor degree in relevant discipline from India. In case if candidate passed bachelor degree from outside India, he/she shall get their eligibility verified by the respective University Authorities before seeking admission to the Engineering courses and need to produce equivalence certificate.

 

Fees & Expenses:

 

For SAARC countries:

Following is the per year fee charged to the candidates belonging to the category of Foreign Nationals belonging to SAARC countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Shi Lanka, Maldives (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) and who will be admitted to four year degree course in the Engineering/Technology for academic year 2016-17

 

For Non-SAARC countries:

Following is the per year fee charged to the candidates belonging to the category of Foreign Nationals/Foreign Students/PIO (Except citizens of Pakistan and Bangladesh) and who will be admitted to four year degree course in the Engineering/Technology for academic year 2016-17.

Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of Director, “G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, payable at Nagpur.

 

All FN candidates are required to deposit their endorsed student visa to G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering. The Visa should be valid for the period of duration of program.

 

Note:

 

i) Eligibility Certificate can be obtained from RTMNU, even before the provisional admissions after submitting the application in the prescribed form along with the fee.

ii) No objection Certificate: After getting the eligibility certificate from the RTM Nagpur University, the candidate is required to contact the Foreign Student Advisor of RTM Nagpur University. The candidate will be required to get a medical certificate in the prescribed format, from the Civil Surgeon, Mayo Hospital, Nagpur, after going through some required medical tests. After receiving the medical certificate, the Foreign Student’s Advisor, will direct the candidate to pay INR 25,000/- to the University, then the NOC is issued.

iii) In case, the results of “A” level / XII / equivalent examination are awaited, the candidates can also apply for provisional admission. However, they are required to submit the “A” level / XII or equivalent examination certificate at the time of confirmation of admission.

iv) Admission in Hostel, if needed, may be taken at the time of confirmation of admission.

  7. VISA (Either working / business) of NRI / Guardian of NRI
  8. Employer Certificate or Salary Certificate of NRI
  9. Passport copy of NRI / Guardian of NRI
  10. Affidavit of Guardian of NRI (Original). Affidavit of Parents of NRI if Guardian is appointed (Original). Format copy can be obtained from Website
  11. Transcripts, if any (applicable for Foreign Students): can be obtained from Website
  12. NOC From RTM, Nagpur University (applicable for Foreign Nationals / PIO / Gulf NRI candidates)
  13. Character Certificate
  14. State of birth certificate.
  15. Sponsorship Affidavit. .
 

Note: In case of payments through NRO/NRE accounts equivalent Indian Rupee at the prevailing exchange rate of USD to INR, on that date.

 

Refund Rule:

 

In case of cancellation of admission under NRI-Ward/FN/PIO/Gulf NRI Category made before 30th July,2016, then proportionate monthly charges of Tution + Development + Other fee, will be deducted. In case of cancellation after 30th July,2016 (i.e. probable last cutoff date of admission by DTE), no refund will be made, except refundable caution money deposit of INR 10,000.
