Information Technology Department
         Information technology (IT) is the branch of engineering dealing with the use of computers and telecommunications, developing and maintaining systems as well as retrieving, storing and transmitting information. The branch is responsible for the efficient operation of IT services and infrastructure; leading the corporation in the use of Information Technology as a strategic asset.

         IT provides value to the corporation by enabling departments to provide service to citizens through the use of technology. The emerging needs of the corporation are addressed through IT planning and innovation. Effective positioning and efficient leveraging of the information technology asset through the introduction of new approaches allows departments to meet their business needs through technology. IT Service Management Embedding continuous improvement as a practice, this core service monitors and reports on the performance of the Branch against industry-accepted standards and frameworks.

Programme Educational Objectives

The programme educational objectives of the Information Technology programme are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of information technology causes and to accommodate the needs of the profession.

The graduates shall:

  1. Practice Information Technology in the general disciplines of design, development & deployment of software and integration of existing technologies for e-governance nationwide.
  2. Apply fundamental technical knowledge and skills to provide workable solutions to problems in various areas of IT.
  3. Pursue higher education, research and development and deploy creative efforts in the area of Information Technology.
  4. Use the acquired knowledge in societal and environmental sensitive manner with professional ethics in a team
Program Specific Outcome
PSO1 -Applying core concepts of information technology and paradigms of all programming concepts to facilitate security, information, transaction, mining, database and communication. 
PSO 2 -Design and analysis of system software with secured database application for modern business environment using advanced technologies and tools. 
PSO3 -Ability to plan, deploy and test the available research resources for real time applications and to provide solutions to new ideas and innovations. 
 
Program Outcomes

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

General Proficiency>
     Grooming is very important part of an individual personality. In General Proficiency all efforts are directed to enhance and groom one's outer and inner self to bring about a positive change in one's life, boosting one's confidence, learning fine etiquettes and manners, adding style and grace to the way one looks, talks and walks and overall imbibing oneself with positivity, liveliness and peace.
    This in-turn creates the personality which can match and outwin the competition and as well become well-cultured person with all the required skill sets which are required to be a smart global citizen. The course deals with improving the skills namely Personal Skills, Social Skills, Inter-personal Skills, Family Skills, Soft Skills.

    GHRCE is the first Institute in the region to have started special classes and training sessions for students to hone their persona in general proficiency for readily being acceptable by organizations and schools of higher learning. The T&P Cell and the Departmental Forums design well crafted programs with interface from external agencies to instill vigor and self confidence in students. The singular purpose is to develop in students the ability to learn and understand the nuances of the changing world. The students are taught to walk the extra mile and that there is always a better way to do things.

    

To impart various skills institute has incorporated General Proficiency subject in every semester which will offer

  • Horse riding which is the skill of riding, driving, or vaulting with horses. This broad description includes the use of horses for recreational activities, artistic or cultural exercises, and competitive sport.
