B. Tech. in Artificial Intelligence is an undergraduate programme with advanced learning solutions imparting knowledge of advanced innovations like machine learning, often called deep learning and artificial intelligence.
This specialisation is designed to enable students to build intelligent machines, software, or applications with a cutting-edge combination of machine learning, analytics and visualisation technologies. The main goal of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning is to program computers to use example data or experience to solve a given problem. Many successful applications based on machine learning exist already, including systems that analyze past sales data to predict customer behaviour (financial management), recognize faces or spoken speech, optimize robot behaviour so that a task can be completed using minimum resources, and extract knowledge from bioinformatics data.
This programme discusses AI methods based in different fields, including neural networks, signal processing, control, and data mining, in order to present a unified treatment of machine learning problems and solutions.
Head of Department of Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Mangala Madankar is Head of Department of Artificial Intelligence. She is having total experience of 18 years, 15 years in the field of academics and 3 years industry experience. She did her PhD in Information Technology from RTMNU, Nagpur. M.E. in Wireless Communication and Computing and B.E. in Computer Engineering, from RTMNU, Nagpur.
Her areas of research interests are Natural Language Processing, Data Science, Big Data and Information Retrieval Systems.
She has published more than 54 research papers in International Journals and Conferences with indexing in Scopus, Springer, Elsevier, IEEE, and ESCI. She has 179+ Google scholar citation and 8 h-index and h-10 index. She received active SPOC Appreciation Award By NPTEL IIT Madras in year (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21) and special appreciation award for motivating and encouraging students for taking NPTEL courses in 2018-19. She is also the recipient of Silver Medal in NPTEL course Formal Language and Automata by IIT Bombay.
She is a reviewer of International Conferences and Journals of indexing with SCOPUS/SCI ranking. She filed two patents and one published. She has worked as a project coordinator of COE – High Performance Computing, Android training Program by Natarajan Education Society, QEEE Program by IIT Madars. Remote center Coordinator ( IIT Bombay / IIT Kharagpur), ISRO Digital Learning, NPTEL Local Chapter, Virtual Lab by IIT Bombay, and involve in creation of credit transfer policy through digital learning.
She has worked as General Co-chair and Finance chair for various International Conferences, ICISP 2015 indexed by Elsevier, ICCICA June 2021 indexed by Helix Scientific Explorer, ICCICA June 2021 indexed by IOP Material Science, and IICCICA Nov 2022 indexed by IEEE. She had delivered various expert talks on “Automata Theory”, “Big Data”, “Game Theory”, She delivered a session on NPTEL Awareness program for Maharashtra region in coordination with IIT Bombay.
