Awareness Camp for Registration for Voters held under “Lokshahi Pandharwada” in GHRCE, Nagpur

26th Jan. to 10th Feb. is celebrated as Lokshahi Pandharwada in Maharashtra. Under this Lokshahi Pandharwada, an awareness camp of registration for voting was conducted in GHRCE, Nagpur on 6th February 2019. More than 150 students of first year who turned into 18 years or on the verge of completion have attended the camp. Mr. Ashay Dhule & Mr. Yunus Sheikh from Hingna Tahsil Office conducted the camp & campaign. Mr. Yunus Sheikh had given demo of 'how to enroll students on online portal for voting registration thorugh NVSP service Portal'. Students had registered themselves by following the process which was delivered by Mr. Yunus Sheikh. Initially introduction of program was given by Prof. Mangesh Bhorkar,

NSS Program officer followed by Mr. Ashay Dhule by delivering the importance of voting and various divisions of Matdar Sangh under the process. Prof. A. M. Sudame, Prof. E. Raut were available during the program. Mr. Subodh Patil (Ele. Engg.), Ms. Virta Patil (ETC), Natasha Tambe (ETC), Janhavi Gomashe (ETC) NSS volunteers were available for smooth conduction of program. “The Success Sagas” Competition Organized at GHRCE, Nagpur

First Year Forum FAITH organized Success Saga competition for Semester-II students on 16th February 2019. The aim of this competition was to motivate the students through the presentation of inspiring stories of people who are role-models for them. On the final day, 24students participated in the event. Ananya Mishra was the winner while Ritwik Nirwan and Adisri Sarodewere the runner-up for this competition. The judge for this event was Mr. Tushar Muley, Sr. Training Adviser, GEL who has an extensive experience in the field of training.

GHRCE, Nagpur in Association with Oxford Press Organized Workshop on “Problem Solving Using Python Programming”

Department of First year Engineering G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur in corporation with Oxford Press , had organized two days Workshop on “Problem Solving Using Python Programming” on 4th Feb & 5th Feb 2019 for CSE & IT, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur students of second semester. There were total 160 students. The speaker was Dr. Reema Thereja, from the University of Delhi, Madam has around 12 years of teaching experience and specializes in programming languages, operating systems, microprocessors, DBMS, multimedia, and web technologies. She has authored numerous bestsellers on programming languages including Python Programming, Data Structures using C, Information Technology and its Applications to Business, and many more.

Her titles are renowned across the globe, with adoptions in prominent technical institutions in Indonesia, Germany and the US. In addition to this, Dr. R. Thareja has published several research papers in national and international journals of repute. In this two day workshop first day session was Introductory session & Hands on and on second day It was again Hands on & doubt solving session. The session was very Informative it will surely help our students to build their Python programming skill The workshop was organized by Prof. Nisha S. Raote from Information Technology Department under the guidance of Dr. B. P. Butey, Dean First year, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. It was a very interesting session and students participated with zeal.

GHRCE, Pune Organized Workshop on “Andriod Application Development” under IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Pune

G H Raisoni Engineering and Management, Wagholi, Pune, Department of Information Technology, organized workshop on “Andriod Application Development” under IEEE Computer Society chapter, Pune on 1st March 2019. Prof. Simran Khiani, Head of Information Technology welcomed and introduced the guest Mr. Nishikant Shinde, Astrike Infotech. He started the workshop with the Current trends of Android development and its advantages and disadvantages. He explained them the benefits and changes it will bring to day-to-day activities and how it can benefit them irrespective of their branch. He discussed the importance, usefulness and impact of apps in today's digital world.

He briefed the students about the types of validation, basic hardware and software requirements for android development. He provided insights about Android development. He explained them app architecture, app components and app resources. He not only explained it analytically but also demonstrated by creating an app with the students. Even the students got a chance to experiment with their coding skills on Android Studio. 62 students from T.Y. B Tech IT attended the workshop and were benefited by the workshop. At the end of the programme, Prof. Shabda Dongaonkar proposed vote of thanks. The workshop was organized by Prof. Shabda Dongaonkar under the guidance of Prof. Simran Khiani, HoD, Information Technology Department.

NSS Unit, GHRCE, Nagpur Conducted Awareness Activity on “Poshan Pakhwada”

8th March 2019 was first anniversary of Poshan Abhiyan, in order to create mobilization at state and district level towards nutrition. The Poshan Pakhwada celebrated every year from 8th- 22nd March. This program run by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. Of India every year. Under this Pakhwada various activities are to be conducted like Youth Group Meetings, Poshan Rally, School based activity, Prabhat Pheri etc. An attempt has been made by National Service Scheme Unit (NSS) of G H Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur for creating awareness among student of Z. P. Primary School of Rajiv Nagar Hingana on 19th March 2019. Under this program the NSS volunteers interacted with students and given a register copy, chocolates to every student of primary school and

celebrated Poshan Pandharwada. NSS students taught them about good eating habits, food quality, food types, fruits information, nutrients in all types of food items, prohibition on junk foods etc. They also informed about the malnutrition conditions of babies with case studies. How to identify the malnutrition babies, its symptoms etc. A small quiz was also organized by volunteers to motivate students for promotion of Poshan Pakhwada in which winners had received gifts. Student of school were too happy and asked the NSS volunteers to visit again and give information to them. Mr. Ghanshyam Patil, Headmaster, & Mrs. Anuradha Patole Teacher Z P School helped a lot in this program. NSS Volunteers of GHRCE, Nagpur Assisted in Pulse Polio Immunization Camp in Nagpur

Pulse Polio is an immunization campaign established by the Government of India to eliminate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by vaccinating all children under the age of five years against the polio virus. The project fights poliomyelitis through a large-scale, pulse vaccination programme and monitoring for polio cases. NSS volunteers of G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur have helped to various booth of Nagpur city. They helped on booths right from carrying the polio vaccines to the marking on nails of kids below 5 years. The polio booth located at Prerna School at Manewada Ring Road & a school at Manish Nagar, Nagpur were selected for help. 11 NSS volunteers were involved in the camp at helped to nurse, doctors and took responsibility of creating awareness about the

pulse polio immunization. The activity was conducted by Prof. M. P. Bhorkar, NSS Program officer with students under the guidance of Prof. S. Wankhede, Registrar & Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur.

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized a guest lecture for the Course Computer Networks for VI semester students of Section D. The Lecture was organized on January 31, 2019 from 1:30 am to 2:30am. The topic for the lecture was “Block chain”. Mr. Ashwin Balani, CEO of First Impression Technology, Nagpur was invited as a speaker for delivering the lecture. The lecture was planned for around 80 students of VI Semester Section D. A Guest Lecture on “Waste Management” Conducted at GHRCE, Nagpur

A Guest Lecture on “ Waste Management ” was organized at GHRCE for the Second Semester B.E. students by Department of First Year Engineering under the aegis of first year forum “FAITH” on 5th March 2019 at 10:30 am. The Guest lecture was taken by Mrs. Anasuya Kale Chhabrani, President Swacch Association and Mrs. Shefali Dudhawade, Secretary Swacch Association working under NGO Swacch Association since July 2015 . Their very first step was to create awareness by giving talks at various forums and meetings. They have mentioned in their talk what are the different types of waste such as organic waste, recyclable waste, inert waste, electronic waste, hazardous waste and bio-medical waste.

Also they told how to separate waste from house. they have given various solution one of it is segregation and start composting waste at home . Their motive is to offer and come forward to bridge the gap between Citizens- Govt Bodies-NGO's. The people instrumental in conduction of Guest lecture were Dr. B. P. Butey, Dean First Year, Prof. A Sudame and Dr. Nalini Vaidya.

Department of F Y B.Tech has organized Guest Lecture on “Bio-materials and its Applications” on 9th March 2019 in collaboration with R & D cell of GHRCEM, Pune. Sakshi Singh FY A div student has given introduction of chief guest Dr. Yogesh P. Patil, having a good experience on Bio-materials and its Applications, Polymer Composites and associated with AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, pune. Mr. Dr. Yogesh P. Patil started the lecture with an overview of current trends in Bio-material use and future applications. Total students of A, B and C divisions have attended the lecture. R & D Coordinator of FY-BTech dept. Dr. S. K. Mishra concluded this Guest Lecture by giving vote of thanks. Total 96 students from F. Y. B.Tech has participated in this activity.

Industrial Visit at Lokmat Press Butibori, Nagpur Conducted by GHRCE, Nagpur Students

An industry visit was organized on 14th February 2019 at LOKMAT Press, Butibori Nagpur for all the students of IV Semester Sec C. The visit was organized by Prof. P. Jumle and Prof. I. Singh. At the LOKMAT Press, students visited various manufacturing sections where in detailed working and procedure of newspaper Mr. Shailesh Akare from LOKMAT Guided and helped the students to get aware about the processes involved in the manufacturing of newspapers. Students also visited the newspaper printing and packaging machinery units and Solar Power plant at Lokmat. The main objective of the visit was to make the students aware of the types of machineries and manufacturing processes implemented in practical scenario. Lokmat Press has a well-established infrastructure

with strong presence in the print media. The students were captivated by witnessing the process of making of a newspapers from the very scratch. It was a beneficial visit for the students.

G H Raisoni College of Engineering has Organized an Industrial visit at It Networkz, Laxmi Nagar, Nagpur for the Second semester students of first year section H on 8th March 2019. The visit was planned by our honourable Director Dr. Preeti Bajaj in the view that the students could gain knowledge about how an industry works. The students were taken to IT industry. Prof. Amresh Kumar and Prof S Wazalwar accompanied 83 students. Mr. Dipak Dhote, The Unit Head, interacted with the students and had nicely explained the overall working culture and introduce recent technology of IT Industry. The session was quite interactive and students got to learn new things. The students were very thankful to Director Madam for giving such a wonderful opportunity to them to explore new things.

G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized “Toppers” Award Ceremony

G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized Toppers' Award Ceremony on 16th March 2019. Every Year, the institute felicitates 1st and 2nd Topper student from each section. Also the Gold Medal is given to the Topper from Each Branch and Semester amongst all sections. The First Toppers gets DD of Rs.5000 and 2nd Toppers gets DD of Rs.2500. On this occasion, the certificates for Peer Teaching were also awarded to Peer Teaching students. Total 102 student beneficiaries for session 2017-18 (including 1st and 2nd Toppers and 15 Gold Medalists) and their parents were present for the ceremony. Many parents appreciated the efforts taken by the institute especially Credit Transfer Scheme. Also they provided spontaneous and valuable feedback about the procedures followed by

the institute. All the Deans, Heads of the departments were present to attend the ceremony.The program was a grand success with blessings and support of Honorable Chairman Sir Shri Sunilji Raisoni and GHRCE Director Dr. Preeti Bajaj.

Power Point Presentation Competition “Rainbow 2019” held in GHRCE, Nagpur

Power Point Presentation Competition “Rainbow 2019” under the aegis of First Year Forum “FAITH” for First year B.E. students was held in G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. 09 shortlisted groups participated in the competition. Experienced personality in the field of Science and Engineering Dr. M Gaikwad, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication has judged the competition. Judges appreciated and lauded all the participants for their hard work and wonderful presentations. He encouraged them by sharing his vision with students. Students from Sec B are the winners (Pratik Pandey, Shreyas Malewar, Vishakha C) and students from sec E (Pranav Borkar, Prashant Kapse, Pratik Malewar) are runner up.

A Power Point Presentation Competition on Waste Management 'EWM-2K19' Organized at GHRCE , Nagpur

First year Engineering Department (Applied Chemistry) of G H Raisoni college of Engineering, Nagpur has organized, a Power Point Presentation Competition “EWM-2K19” (Environment and Waste Management) on 14th March, 2019 under the aegis of First Year Forum “FAITH” for Second semester B.E students. 10 groups of students were participated in the competition. Dr Isha Khedikar, Assistant Professor, Civil Department of GHRCE, Nagpur was judged the competition. She appreciated all the participants for their hard work and wonderful presentations. Director, Dr P. R. Bajaj and Dr. B. P. Butey, Dean FY were prominently present during this event.

First prize goes to Mr. Vedant Bahel and Mr. Atharva Peshkar, on topic Biomedical Waste Management, first Runner up is Mr. Sarvesh Solanke & Mr. Sanchit Khutafale, on topic Food waste Management & second Runner up is Ms Garima Gattani & Ms. Saloni Upadhyay , on topic Waste Paper recycling. Prof. E. R. Raut was the co-ordinator of the event. The faculty members of Applied chemistry A. M. Sudame, Dr. Manoj Shanti and Dr. Avishek Ghosh have contributed for success of the program.
