Mr. Priyankar Shivhare (MS- Electronics, IIT-Madras 2014-2017) recently on 18thth Dec 2017 had interacted with ETRX departmental Pre final Year students 6th A & B on the Research need and Development. He had highlighted the concept of demand need to satisfy research by individuals on the basis of project in final year or in industry. He taught about culture in IIT for research and way of selecting topics on the basis of new concept which may from any need of application rather than its fault findings. Over all interaction was only on how to focus on Higher studies and related opportunities an Activity conducted by Prof. N. P. Wyawahare heading Dept. Alumni Coordinator.

Greetings Making Competition held at GHRCE, Nagpur

EPICS the departmental Forum of Electrical Engineering department have organized a Greeting Making Competition on 19th December 2017. The motive of this activity was to collect handmade greetings by students which will be given to some old age home as a token of love & respect. The theme for competition was “Christmas & New Year”. 35 students came forward for the good cause and participated in this event. The event was judged by Dr. Vibha Bora, Associate Professor, ETC Department G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur.

Mumbai Dabbawala's Session on “Supply Chain Management” Organized at GHRCE, Nagpur

A session on “Supply Chain Management” by Mumbai Dabbawala was organized at G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur on 15 December 2017. Session was delivered by Mr. Shubhash Talekar, Spokesperson and Secretary of Mumbai Dabbawala Association. Program was organized in two sessions, in first session first year and second year engineering students were present. Second session was attended by third year, final year and Management students. In all more than 1700 students attended the talk by Mr. Shubhash Talekar. Mr. Shubhash Talekar who belongs to fourth generation in Dabbawalas business shared the brief history of Dabbawalas. Dabbawala which started in 1890, today has more than 5000 emplyoees.

Everyday more than 2,00,000 tiffin boxes are delivered. Forbes Magazine awarded its Six Sigma certification in 2001 to the Dabbawalas based on a 99.999999 percent delivery accuracy rate (1 error for every 16 million transactions). Mr. Talekar shared the success mantra of dabbawalas which is discipline, time management, team work and customer care. He also elaborated special coding mechanism developed by dabbawala for efficient supply chain. He also shared achievement and accolades of Dabbawalas like ISO 9001:2000 certification, case study featured in IIM-Ahmedabad curriculum and many more. Students attended the talk with all curiosity and ask question to Mr.Talekar. The program was really motivating for the students. Prof. Ravikumar Tiwari thanked Mr. Talekar for his motivating talk, Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director, GHRCE for initiating this program and providing support. The whole program was coordinated by Prof. K. PM-Yuva Orientation & Entrepreneurship Awareness Program Organized at G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur

G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organizes “PM-Yuva Orientation and Entrepreneurship Awareness Program” on 7th December 2017. PM-YUVA Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Yuva Udyamita Vikas Abhiyan) is government project under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Projects aims to create an enabling ecosystem for Entrepreneurship Development through entrepreneurship education and training across selected Institutes of Higher Learning. G H Raisoni College of Engineering is selected as one of the empanelled institute for PM-Yuva.Program also comprises of talks by young Entrepreneurs of Nagpur. Mr. Ankur Alok Raj (Founder Motorodi), Mr. Viraj Voditel (Founder & CEO, TechTure) was amongst the speakers who shared their entrepreneurial journey. Theirs talks was indeed motivational inspiring for young students. Ms Dipika Sharma (Nodal Officer, PM-Yuva) informs about the PM-Yuva project, its importance and how it is going to implement. The program was attended by more than 950 students. The whole proceeding of the program was coordinated by Prof.K.D. Joshi (Dean, Placements) and Prof. Ravikumar Tiwari (In-charge, Entrepreneurship Cell). Introduction to Machine Learning" FDP Program in GHRCE, Nagpur

An important initiative was been taken by IIT Kharagpur to conduct weekend faculty development programme named 'Saptahaant Shikshak Prashikshan' (SSP) on Machine Learning at Remote Center G H Raisoni College of Engineering to enhance the teaching skills of the faculty colleagues in specialized technical and science subjects. Participating teachers attended live lectures delivered by IIT Kharagpur faculty at the Remote Centre G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur on 16.12.2017 (Saturday) and 17.12.2017 (Sunday).The lecture transmission and live interaction took place in distance mode using the A-VIEW technology. Workshop Coordinator Prof. A.K. Khan was appointed by the Remote centre and Remote Center coordinator was Prof. M. S. Madankar to handle the technology infrastructure for this two-day weekend training programme on "Introduction to Machine Learning" in the area of Electronics and Computer Science. The 2 Day session was taken by Prof. Sourangshu Bhattacharya, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur and Prof. Pawan Goyal, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur.

The course covered various informative topic in the domain of machine learning like Supervised learning: spam filtering, classification, user visit prediction, regression, generalization, bias-variance, cross-validation, Probabilistic models, Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM), Hidden Markov Models (HMM), Maximum likelihood, SVM, kernel methods ,Neural Networks, Back propagation, RNN, CNN and so on. For the First 'Saptahaant Shikshak Prashikshan' (SSP), a two-day weekend training programme on "Introduction to Machine Learning" in the area of Electronics and Computer Science 30 faculties participated to hone skills and to cultivate new thoughts in the areas of emerging trends of machine learning. The FDP ended with online feedback from various institute nominated from IIT, KGP on 17th Dec 2017. The FDP on “Introduction to Machine Learning " was an effort to bring out innate research , meet experts, to share experience, broaden view and observations, to hone skills and to cultivate new thoughts in the areas of emerging trends of machine learning and the event was held successfully.

First Project Progress Seminar at GRHCE, Nagpur

First progress seminar for M.Tech 4th Sem IPS students was organized on 9th December - 2017 at Electrical Department G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. The experts were Dr. V. K. Chandrakar, DR. D. R. Tutakane accompanied by Dr. P. M. Daigavane (HoD, EE). This activity was coordinated by Prof. R. H. Adware IPS Co-ordinator and Prof. A. S. Sharma IPS Co-Cordinator. They worked hard for completion of this event. Three Days Workshop on “Data Analytics” at GHRCE, Nagpur

Three Days workshop was organized for the students of 4th Semester, Section C of Computer Science and Engineering Department, GHRCE, Nagpur, The workshop was conducted by Prof. Lalit Dole and Prof. Amresh Kumar, Assistant Professor ,CSE Department from 18th to 20 Dec, 2017. Objective of workshop: To teach students about the data analytics technique for visualization. To make them aware how to analyze and demonstrate various real time problem statements using data analytics in order to give best possible solution. Agenda of workshop: Introduction to Data Analytics and Installation of Tableau, to create, read, write, and modify Business Intelligence reports. Use data visualization is to communicate information clearly and efficiently via statistical graphics, plots and information graphics. Evaluation of Workshop (TAE02 and TAE03): Students were evaluated via Written Test, Presentation and Report writing on case study. Total 83 students was the Beneficiary of the workshop

Workshop on “Estimation & Costing” at GHRCE, Nagpur

Department of Electrical Engineering conducted a two day workshop on “Estimation and Costing” for students of 8th semester Batch II students on 1st and 2nd December 2017 to enhance their knowledge in estimating and costing of products. Students were enlightened by many experienced and renowned faculties of the department. In all 9 sessions were undertaken under this workshop which included explanation of recent trends and hands on practice for estimation and costing of products. 79 beneficiaries of final year attended this workshop. Dr. P. R. Bajaj director of G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur encouraged and permitted for such workshops to be undertaken in department as it helps to develop and upgrade the knowledge of students in addition to academics for which department is always thankful and blessed by her contributions. Dr. P. M. Daigavane HoD of Department of Electrical Engineering has taken full responsibility for this workshop and guided faculties of department whenever required. Faculty Co-ordinators for workshop were Dr. D. R. Tutakane, Prof V. P. Rajderekar & Prof. R. S. Saxena who managed to complete this workshop successfully.

Workshop on “Intel Nervana AI Academy” at GRHCE, Nagpur

A workshop was conducted on 11/12/2017 at 10:00AM in F21, for 2nd Sem PG CSE Students on “Intel Nervana AI Academy” by Mr. Jay Mahalingam, Mr. Pranav Nair, from Calligo Technologies, Bangalore (Partner of Intel India). The workshop objective was to introduce Intel tools & libraries for machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and deep learning techniques focused on newly optimized frameworks for Intel Architecture. The Workshop covers following topics: 1. Machine Learning & Deep Learning Fundamentals, 2. Deep Learning Examples, like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for Image Recognition 3. How Intel plans to help developers to improve performance of Machine Learning workloads 4. What frameworks are optimized for Intel Architecture, and how you can get access to them? 5. BigDL, 6. Hadoop7. Xeon, Caffe. Total 9 students are the beneficiary of workshop.

Workshop on “Internet of Things (IOT) & Aurdino” at GHRCE, Nagpur

One week hardware workshops of IOT were conducted for 4th sem and 8th sem Electrical Engineering students in Department of Electrical Engineering G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. For 8th sem workshop was scheduled from 4th-8th December 2017and for 4th sem Sec A workshop was scheduled from 11-15th December 2017 and for 4th sem Sec B it was scheduled from 18-22nd December 2017. Prof. Suraj Dudhe and Prof. B. V. S Raghava are departmental faculties who have conducted these workshops. No. of Beneficiaries is 151 students from 8th Sem, 75 students from 4th Sem Sec A and 78 students from 4th Sem Sec B. In this workshop students learned about Aurdino and its programming on different applications. They have done hands on practice on breadboard and even learned Express PCB for PCB designing.

External Project Seminar at GHRCE, Nagpur

The final external project seminar of 7th Sem Electrical students was organized on 2nd Dec 2017 for Batch I at Electrical Dept, GHRCE, Nagpur. Industry personals from renowned industries were invited as external examiners for this event. Industrial experts are Mr. Shirish Ranade, Vice President, reliance Power, Mumbai, Mr. Anand Zararia, Sr. Engineer, ACC Ltd, Mumbai & Mr. Sarang Bodhankar, Sr. Manager, Crompton Greaves, Mumbai. 23 groups presented their seminars before experts. The internal experts were Dr. S.G. Tarnekar, & Dr. P. M. Daigavane (HOD, EE), accompanied with Dean III cell Prof. V. S. Khangar and respective project guides. The departmental projects coordinator Prof. P. L. Ramtekkar, with other departmental faculties worked hard for the successful completion of final project seminar. GHRCE Nagpur Faculties Attended GIAN Workshop on “MEMS for Biomechanics & BioRobotics” at VNIT, Nagpur

Dr. Shubhangi Giripunje, Prof. Sonali Joshi, Prof. Rahul Agrawal from Electronics Engineering Department, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur has attended GIAN workshop on “MEMS for Biomechanics and BioRobotics” from 4th-8th Dec 20-17, organized by VNIT, Nagpur. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Shuji Tanaka, Department of Robotics, Microsystem Integration Center, Tohoku University at VNIT on 4/12/17. Dr. Shuji Tanaka has organized mini Contest on topic “MEMS Application Idea Mini Contest”. G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur team has presented on “Diseases Detection Using Pulse”. Out of 8 teams G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur won third prize.

GHRCE Nagpur Faculties Conducted Python Workshop for UG Students of Electronics Department

Electronics Engineering department of G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur arranged two weeks Python Workshop for second and third year students as to enhance the software competency of the students which will be helpful for industry placement in future. Python is the popular and demandable language nowadays which many big and popular industries are demanding for the new recruitment in their reputed companies and industries. Prof. Wani V. Patil and Prof. N. P. Wyawahare conducted this two weeks full day workshop for the students from dated 4th Dec to 16th Dec 2017. The workshop covers the basic of the python language along with the programming in game. The students were evaluated on the last day of the workshop by giving them the target to design the games in python. Thus the workshop helps in skill development of the students in the python language.

Workshop on “Solar Plant System” at G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur

A One week workshop of Solar was conducted for 4th sem and 8th Sem Electrical Engineering students in Department of Electrical Engineering, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. In this workshop students were given knowledge of design of PV modules, solar panel design and installation in power plants as well as on rooftops. Also students were thought about concept of Energy Audit and its importance in the field of Electrical Engineering. For 8th sem workshop was scheduled from 4th-8th December 2017and for 4th sem Sec A workshop was scheduled from 11-15th December 2017 and for 4th sem Sec B it was scheduled from 18-22nd December 2017. Department of Civil Engineering, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur organized Alumni Lecture of Mr. Anirban Naik Alumni 2013 batch. This Lecture was conducted for Sixth Semester Section A/B students for the topic of research fields available in Civil Engineering Department, G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur 26 December - 2017. Total 13 students were present during the presentation in C-21 Lab. He delivered lecture on various research fields available in civil engineering. He also discuss various issue regarding to competitive examination.

Guest Lecture on Advances in Mobile Communications at GHRCE, Nagpur

Computer Engineering Department of G H Raisoni College of Engineering & Management, Pune has organized Guest Lecture on “Advances in Mobile Communications” for Second year students on 14th December, 2017. The guest lecture was conducted by Mr. Govind Sable, RF Optimization Engineer, Nokia Networks, Pune. In the guest lecture he explained How actually call gets connected, all Mobile generations, Latest mobile operating systems and their features. Students got motivated by videos of mobile communication. Students also learnt basic concepts of Mobile OS. Session was ended after two hours.

Guest lecture was organized at G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur for M Tech second sem students of VLSI/Electronics on “3D PRINTING” , in F-21 on 18th December 2017 for post graduate IInd SEM VLSI/ETRX students. The speaker is from Mumbai, Maharashtra also Founder & CEO, TMMS & Founder - Promoter, 3D PRINTING WORLD COMMUNITY CLUB - TRINITY MEDIA & MARKETING SOLUTIONS. The talk started with 3D printing and the Challenges and Opportunities for 3D printing. It was enthusiastically attended by PG students of VLSI/ETRX.
