Medical Device Hackathon (MEDHA2024)

MEDHA2024 is a medical device hackathon bringing together inter-disciplinary teams to explore medical device innovation. This year MEDHA2024 will be hosted at multiple institutes and location. BETiC center of G H Raisoni College of Engineering,Nagpur will be one of the partner institute planning to host the MEDHA2024, mentored by BETiC- IIT Bombay. Interested candidates can apply to institutes nearby them.

Event Dates and Venue

Stage-1
28th -29th September,2024 (Offline) at BETiC-GHRCE, Nagpur.

Watch videos of clinical problems. Form inter-disciplinary teams. Understand & define the problem. Brainstorm novel solutions, sketch concepts. Fabricate & test a prototype. Prepare the presentation. Pitch to jury panel.

Stage-2
5th -20th October,2024 (BETiC,IIT Bombay)
  • Develop stage - 5th Oct - Online mode
  • Deliver stage - 12th Oct - Online mode
  • Deploy stage - 19th Oct - Online mode
  • Finale at IIT Bombay: Jury presentation and valedictory function - 20th October,2024- Physical at IIT Bombay

  • Registration fees: 1000/-(With 2 Lunches,1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast during 36 Hours Hackathon)
  • Prizes: The winners and runner -up of MEDHA will be given certificate and cash prize with opportunity to participate in stage 2 in Medical Device Innovation Course (MEDIC) at BETiC IIT Bombay which is planned from 5th -20th October, 2024 (Online + Offline). Final winners will have an opportunity for fellowship and support for working on their ideas under incubation centers.
  • Note : For outside participants(Girls & Boys) Hostel Accommodation will be provided(Free)

  • UG/PG students or professionals with any of these backgrounds: Medical: Biomedical/ Medicine / Physiotherapy/ Pharma Design: Industrial Design/ Product Design/ Visual Arts Engineering-I:Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Materials/ Chemical Engineering-II: Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Software

  • Each team will have four members, one each of above backgrounds. Ideally at least one of them with professional industry or entrepreneurship experience.

  • The winners and runner -up of MEDHA will be given certificate and cash prize with opportunity to participate in Medical Device Innovation Course (MEDIC) at BETiC IIT Bombay which is planned from 5th -20th October, 2024 (Online + Offline)
