Medical Device Hackathon (MEDHA 2023)

Medical Device Hackathon (MEDHA2023) is organized to spread the knowledge among those interested in contributing to medical device innovation. This year MEDHA2023 will be hosted at multiple institutes and location. BETiC center of G H Raisoni College of Engineering,Nagpur will be one of the partner institute planning to host the MEDHA2023, mentored by IIT Bombay & VNIT,Nagpur. Interested candidates can apply to institutes nearby them.

Event Dates and Venue

Stage-1
( BETiC-GHRCE,Nagpur):20th-28th May 2023 (Two Weekends)
Watch videos of Clinical problems. Form interdisciplinary teams. Understand & define the problems. Brainstorm novel solutions, sketch concepts, Fabricate & test a prototype. Prepare presentation, Pitch to jury panel.
Stage-2
(IIT Bombay): 10th June 2023
Final presentation at IIT Bombay along with visit to BETiC Lab

What is MEDHA?

  • MEDHA is a medical device hackathon bringing together inter-disciplinary teams to explore medical device innovation

  • BETIC – Biomedical Engineering & Technology Innovation Centre, IIT Bombay in collaboration with BETiC-GHRCE Nagpur institutes.

  • 20th and 28th May 2023 : Stage-1 Event at BETiC-GHRCE Nagpur/ Online + Offline mode
  • 10th June 2023 : Stage-2 Event at IIT Bombay, Mumbai /Offline Mode

  • Final year UG/PG students or professionals with any of these backgrounds:Medical: Biomedical/ Medicine / Physiotherapy/ Pharma Design: Industrial Design/ Product Design/ Visual Arts Engineering-I: Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Materials/ Chemical Engineering-II: Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Software

  • Interested candidates need to pre-register. They will be requested to mail their biodata & portfolio, based on which they will be short-listed and selected.

  • All teams presenting working prototypes will win prizes. Top innovators may be invited for advanced training at IIT Bombay and to apply for fellowships.
